Grandma’s Pantry

On Sunday we got a surprise visit from a relative we didn’t even realize we had.  Kent’s father’s brother’s oldest son, Thadeus Cecil Layton found us thanks to the internet.  He was on his way to California and dropped by completely unannounced.  For Shane, Todd, Bryan & Melissa - Thadeus is your third cousin once removed.  This is who cousin Tadd was named after.  After confirming all of this with a phone call to Uncle Keith, we had a very nice visit.  Apparently, Thadeus moved to Kentucky after being discharged from the military and lost touch with relatives back in Colorado.  We heard lots of neat stories and updated much of our missing geneological information on the Layton side.  The ironic thing was that when I first saw Thadeus at the door, I thought that he could easily pass for a Swain.  What a small world!

Meet our new granddaughter, the beautiful Maya.  Maya makes seven wonder grandchildren, this grandparent stuff is great!

Say hello to Grandma’s new blog - aptly titled "Grandma’s Pantry".  Instead of sending email letters, Grandma can type everything on her blog and even put cool photos on it too.  Everyone else has a blog so why not Grandma?
